Contraceptive Methods

Natural Methods:

Periodic Abstinence - abstain from intercourse during fertility period

Coitus interuptus withdrawal of penis from vagina before ejaculation

Lactation- Breast feeding could also be contraceptive effect due to prolactine's inhibition of luteinizing hormone


Barrier Methods
Condom - placed over the erected penis to prevent semen from entering to vagina

Diaphragm - place to cover cervical opening

Contraceptive sponge - moisten with water and insert deep into vagina prior to intercourse
